Mining Experience
Though not formally educated in mining, per se, the topics I studied
and the years I have given in service to the mining industry have developed
unique qualifications in the field. I graduated from one of the foremost
schools of mining, Berkeley, worked for 2.5 years for Cerro de Pasco Copper
Co., taught earth-science courses to miners for 13 years, and have spent
most of my consulting career working for mining companies or engineering
firms in their employ. I am personally experienced with all phases of
placer gold exploration, mining and processing, as well as heap leaching,
having conducted my own enterprises with these techniques. It may be noted
that the water problems of the mining industry have been a professional
focus, and I also have capabilities in soils and rock mechanics.
