Areas of Expertise

In mining, we have worked on drainage and grouting of underground and pit mines, on process water supply, abatement of AMD and tailings effluents, rock mechanics, foundations and environmental impacts.

In construction and design, we have worked on water control to excavations, well fields, tunnels, shafts, quarries and dams. Applications include drainage, flood and sediment control, coastal erosion, reservoir-induced seismicity, materials exploration, soil and rock borrow, slope control and plant site studies.

In Environmental engineering, we do groundwater hydrology of old and new landfills and radwaste respositories, predictive modeling of flow and contaminant transport in the saturated and vadose zones. Flow in fractured rock is an area we pioneered. We conduct reviews, damage prevention studies and risk assessments, as well as the writing of agency documents for environmental regulation and policy.

See links on the left for a detailed description of our areas of expertise.
